Tuesday 28th June 2011:

We are pleased to announce that 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' will be getting another screening in Australia, this time as part of the launch night for a new competition entitled 'Reel Architecture'. The competition aims to 'encourage individuals with an interest in architecture to express it through the accessible medium of film', and the launch night promises to offer inspiration by showcasing 'a selection of existing short films & film clips that respond to this year’s question at the launch'. Wednesday 27th April 2011:

Tiga Kali Studio are pleased to announce that 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph' has been invited to screen at this year's Werkstatt der Jungen Filmszene festival in June. Furthermore, 'Canbury' will be screened at the final 'Life's Just Networking' event on May 10th. For those not in the know, 'Life's Just Networking' is a monthly networking and screening night that Alex has been running, tied in with with his debut feature 'Life Just Is'. The May finale will also feature the launch of a short promo for the feature film.

In other news since our last update, 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' and Alex's earlier film 'The Lion's Head' were both invited to take part in a new screening night in Australia, entitled 'Don't You Have Docs?'. The night is run in association with the MUBI Garage, and both films can therefore be viewed on their MUBI channel, here.


Thursday 11th November 2010:

Although it's been a little while since our last update, things have not been quiet in the Tiga Kali Studio camp: 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' was recently selected for Reggio Film Festival, while 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph' was invited to screen at this year's Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival. Friday 6th August 2010:

'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' has been selected for ISAFF OPEN CINEMA, described as 'the largest international forum of short films in Russia and a sole open-air film festival in Saint-Petersburg'. Given that the film was inspired by the work of the Soviet Montage Theorists, we are very excited that the film will be screening in Russia.


Monday 12th July 2010:

We are very pleased to announce another festival screening for 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge'. The film has been selected for BuSho Budapest Short Film Festival, where it will screen in September. Please visit the festival's website for full details.


Sunday 30th May 2010:

Following on from our last update, we are pleased to announce more good news for 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph': the film has been accepted onto the British Council's International Short Film Festival Submission Scheme. We would like to thank Julian Pye and all at the British Council for selecting our film.

We are also pleased to announce that 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' has been selected for screening at the Ischia Film Festival. Please visit the festival's website for full details.


Saturday 15th May 2010:

We are pleased to announce some more good festival news! 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph' will be screening at both the Hamburg International Short Film Festival and the Holloway Arts Festival next month. Please visit the festival websites for more details.

Monday 26th April 2010:

Tiga Kali Studio are absolutely thrilled to announce that over the last two days 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' has won two awards and been selected for two further festivals.

The two awards came courtesy of the Babelgum Online Film Festival, where the film picked up both the Stoli Emerging Filmmaker Award and the Audience Award in the Nonnarrative Category. The film was the only one to receive multiple awards at the festival, and as part of the prize it will be screening at the Tribeca Film Festival later this week. Tiga Kali Studio would like to take this opportunity to thank the judges and all those who voted for the film.

The two new festivals that the film has been selected for are the International Short Film Festival Detmold and the Athens Video Art Festival 2010. Please visit the festival websites for further information.

We are very pleased to announce that 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph' has been selected to screen at GLIMMER: The 8th Hull International Short Film Festival. The film will screen on Saturday 24th April as part of the UK Comp 2 programme. Please visit the festival's website for more information.


Monday 22nd February 2010:

Friday 5th February 2010:

'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' and 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph' have both been selected to screen at this year's Wood Green International Short Film Festival. More details should be up on the festival's website in due course.


Monday 18th January 2010:

Following on nicely from our last update, we're thrilled to announce that we've picked up another award, this time for our film 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge'. The film was awarded the 'Best video art' prize at the Serbian festival 'IT'S IDEA THAT MATTERS 3!'.


Saturday 9th January 2010:

Last night saw the world premiere of 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph' at the London Short Film Festival, where it won the award for Best Lo-Budget Film. It's safe to say that we're thrilled about this, and we'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the festival. The session was judged by the Hamburg Short Film Festival and in addition to the physical award we will receive, the film will also screen in Hamburg in June. In related news, the first 'Paintbrush' film has been entered into Shooting People's film of the month competition, and can now be viewed and rated here.

It has also come to our attention that last year 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' was selected for screening at both Albania's Tirana International Film Festival and Serbia's Film Front Festival. The film has also recently been selected for this year's British Shorts Lichtspielklub Kurtzfilmfestival, as has 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph'. Wednesday 11th November 2009:

Tiga Kali Studio are very pleased indeed to announce that 'Paintbrush' has won an audience award at this year's Filmstock International Film Festival. The film will be screening again this Sunday at the festival along with the other winning films.

In related news, a sequel to the film, entitled 'Paintbrush: The Epitaph', has recently been completed and has just been selected for screening at next year's prestigious London Short Film Festival. Official details about the film will be placed on the site in the coming weeks.

Wednesday 15th July 2009:

'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge' has been invited to screen as part of the Big Screen Edinburgh Magic Lantern programme. A half hour collection of shorts featuring films from the city's past next to new films from other cities, the programme will screen outside on the Big Screen in Festival Square three times during the annual Art Festival. The screenings will take place on Saturday 8th August at 8pm, Saturday 22nd August at 3pm and Saturday 5th September at 2pm.
