Saturday 27th June 2009:

Reinstated the news page after a brief hiatus. Although things may have been quiet on the website during this time, they certainly haven't been quiet in the world of Tiga Kali Studio, with seven festival screenings occurring during this time, including the premiere of 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge'! In the last few weeks, the film has played at both the Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Huesca International Film Festival. Meanwhile, 'Paintbrush' has screened at Fest – International Film Festival, and both 'Paintbrush' and 'Canbury' were screened from this year's Cannes in a Van. 'Great & Small' was screened at the Urban Forest Pictures Screening Night earlier this month, and picked up the award for best film. Finally, both 'Andrew' and 'Paintbrush' will be screening at Holloway Arts Festival on July 4th.

In other news, Tiga Kali Studio co-founder Alex Barrett is now officially in development on his debut feature, and details of the project can be found its website: www.lifejustisfilm.com.


Monday 6th April 2009:

Monday 30th March 2009:

'Great & Small' will be screening on June 6th as part of the Salisbury International Arts Festival. It will be playing along with the UK Premiere of the film 'Women of Tibet: The Great Mother'. For more information on the event, and to book tickets, click here.


Tuesday 24th March 2009:

Tiga Kali Studio are pleased to announce that 'Paintbrush' has been selected for Glimmer 2009: The 7th Hull International Short Film Festival. The film will be playing as part of the UK COMPETITION 2 screening on Saturday 25th April at the Reel Cinemas, 9pm-11pm. Tuesday 3rd March 2009:

Further to the news last week that 'Paintbrush' would be screening at this month's Urban Forest Pictures Screening Night, Tiga Kali Studio are pleased to announce that the film was given the award for Best Original Screenplay at the event. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved in running the event, and all who voted for the film.

Thursday 8th January 2009:

Tiga Kali Studio are pleased to announce that both 'Canbury' and 'Paintbrush' have been selected for screening at this year's "BRITISH SHORTS" Lichtspielklub Kurzfilmfestival. For more information about the festival, please visit their website, here.


Tuesday 2nd December 2008:

Hot on the heels of Sunday's news, 'Paintbrush' has now also been selected for screening at this year's Newport International Film Festival. The festival takes place this weekend, and more information about the festival can be found on their website, here.


Sunday 30th November 2008:

'Paintbrush' has been selected for screening at next year's edition of the London Short Film Festival. The film will be playing as part of the Lo-Budget Mayhem screening, which will take place on Friday 9th January at 11pm at the ICA. Tuesday 14th October 2008:

Wednesday 8th October 2008:

Wednesday 3rd September 2008:

'Canbury' has just been selected for screening at Filmstock 2008. The festival takes place in Luton, England, and the full programme will be unveiled to the public in early October. For more information please check back here nearer the time, or visit the festival’s website.


Tuesday 19th August 2008:

Tiga Kali Studio are pleased to announce details of their new film 'Hungerford: Symphony of a London Bridge'. A modern-day city-symphony, the film presents an abstract journey over Hungerford Bridge and the footbridges alongside it.


Thursday 14th August 2008:

'Canbury' has been selected for screening at this years CineFest - Young Filmmaker's International Filmfestival in Moskolc, Hungary. For more information and screening details please visit the festival's website.

Monday 21st July 2008:

On July 5th 'Great & Small' screened at the Furzedown Film Festival 2008, where it won first prize in the Young Filmmaker's Competition Awards, in the Shooting People - Best Short Form Category. Tiga Kali Studio would like to thank everyone involved in the festival for this award.

In other festival news, 'Canbury' has been selected to be a part of the Motovun Film Festival. The festival's short strand, Motovun Online, is (as the name suggests!) an online strand, and 'Canbury' can therefore be watched on their site here.

Meanwhile, the voting on SXSWClick continues for 'Paintbrush', and the film can now be found on IMDB, here.


Friday 27th June 2008:

Tiga Kali Studio are pleased to announce that all three of their recent films have recently been selected for festival screenings. 'Andrew' will be playing at this year's Budapest Short Film Festival, while 'Canbury' will be playing at CinemadaMare on July 29th in Reggio Calabria, Italy. 'Paintbrush', meanwhile, has been selected as a finalist for this year's SXSWClick. The festival is competitive, and we would greatly appreciate your votes!

Saturday 5th April 2008:

Tiga Kali Studio are pleased to announce their first graphic novel project: ‘Sorano’s Overture’. Spearheaded by co-founder Maulin Patel, the story revolves around Victor Harris, who finds himself entangled with mob boss Fat Mo over something his estranged business partner Joseph Sorano has done. The project is a crime/comedy caper with mythical plot twists. We are currently looking for illustrative artists to work on the project and bring it to completion. Monday 31st March 2008:

Information about Tiga Kali Studio's newly-completed film 'Paintbrush' has been uploaded onto the site. The film's press pack and poster can be accessed via the film's page, or directly, here and here, respectively. It is hoped that the film will premiere at a film festival later in the year.


Tuesday 11th March 2008:

Details of the 'Great & Small' screening at the Wood Green International Short Film Festival have been announced. The film will be screened as part of 'Drama Session 2' on Saturday 19th April. Saturday 16th February 2008:

The press pack for the now completed 'Canbury', has been uploaded onto the site, and can be accessed directly here. It is hoped that the film will premiere at a film festival later this summer. Details will be posted here as announced.

'Great & Small' has been selected for screening at this year's Wood Green International Short Film Festival. More details will be posted as soon as we have them.


Tuesday 5th February 2008:

Although it may have been a while since our last update, things are as busy as ever here at Tiga Kali Studio, with work drawing to a close on 'Canbury', and preproduction already underway on our next project. In preparation for the film's forthcoming completition, the 'Canbury' page has been given a facelift, with a new synopsis, an updated director's statment, and the film's poster. Furthermore, a collection of frame grabs from the film has been added to the 'Canbury' gallery page.

In related news, the website for Andrew Visser's production company A Room of One's Own Films, is now live, and can be found here. The company's next project is to be shot by another Tiga Kali Studio regular, Ben Jones, and be produced by our very own Alex Barrett.

Saturday 1st December 2007:

Tiga Kali Studio's 'Canbury' project wrapped last night after a successful three day shoot.

Meanwhile, postproduction on 'Andrew' is now complete. The film is expected to premiere early next year. To celebrate the film's completetion, frame grabs have been added to the film's gallery, while the final version of the film's poster has been added to its page. A PDF of the film's press pack is also now online, and can be downloaded here.


Thursday 22nd November 2007:

Yesterday marked the UK premiere of 'Great & Small' at the Insight Film Festival. The film was warmly received and came second in the festival's award.

In other news, 'Canbury' is being forced into a title change due to the terms laid out in the Filming Licence granted to us by Kingston Council. A new title will be announced here soon. Preproduction is still going stong on the project, with filming set to take place at the end of the month. Please see the film's page for the latest details of cast and crew.


Wednesday 14th November 2007:

'Great & Small' has been shortlisted for the Insight Film Festival award. The screening and award presentation take place on Wednesday 21st November.


Sunday 14th October 2007:

After going through some recent changes to its VFX team, '...' is now up and running again and back on schedule, while postproduction on 'Andrew' is also going strong.

Friday 1st December 2006:

'Permanent End' will be screened this coming Tuesday (5th December) at the Talk Film Shorts event held at The Adelaide in Chalk Farm. The event is being billed as a ‘fantastic selection of short films, from old directors you'll have heard of to young new directors you won’t have!!’ It starts at 7.30, and entry is free. it would be great to see some of you there! Tiga Kali Studio are pleased to announce that their first documentary project – Permanent End – is now complete. Monday 27th March 2006:

Tiga Kali Studio is pleased to announce that we have now finished casting for our first two fiction films, and that Stuart Reid has been cast in 'Great and Small', while Michael Breen will be acting in '…'.

Monday 8th March 2006:

Welcome to the world of Tiga Kali Studio! As you can see if you're reading this, our website is now up and running, although expect further content to be added over the next few weeks as we finish off a few other things that we're still working on. In addition to building up our site and its community, we're also busy with the pre-production of our first two fictional films '…' and 'Great and Small', and the post-production of our first documentary 'Permanent End' (see the 'Films' sections for more details about these projects). In addition to details about our films our site also contains original content in the Gallery section. So take a look around! Hopefully you'll like what you see, and keep checking back on the site to catch the latest updates, which should include new artwork, new stories (we're hoping to launch a Story section over the next couple of months, so if you're a writer of comics, short stories or poems, get in touch here ) and of course all the latest details on the progress of our film productions. Feel free to comment on what you've seen by dropping us an email , or by contributing to our forum. We're all very excited right now about the future of Tiga Kali Studio, and we hope by the end of your look around you will be too!
